The translation and introduction of western terminologies is one of the main sources of the formation of Chinese terminology system.To a certain extent,it promotes the modernization of Chinese terms.Xin Er Ya compiled by Wang Rongbao and Ye Lan plays an important role in the translation and introduction of western terminologies.The nomenclature and compilation of Xin Er Ya follow the example of Er Ya,which contains rich and systematic terminologies of mathematical geometry,and its arrangement and explanation are analyzed in detail.It fully reflects the systematicness of geometry knowledge,lays the foundation of modem Chinese mathematical geometry terminology,promotes the translation and dissemination of modern mathematical knowledge and terminologies,and promotes the formation and inheritance of modern mathematical terminology system.
