中国武侠小说英译的译者行为批评分析——以《射雕英雄传》(卷一)郝玉青英译本为例

Translator Behavior Criticism on the English Translation of Chinese Martial Arts Fictions:A Case Study of Legends of the Condor Heroes:A Hero Born

中国武侠小说英译研究是解析中国武侠小说现有译介经验的重要路径,能够为今后中国当代文学的译介与传播提供相应的借鉴与启迪。文章基于译者行为批评理论,从“译内行为”与“译外行为”两个方面剖析了《射雕英雄传》(卷一)郝玉青英译本的译者行为,研究发现郝玉青虽部分译文在“求真”与“务实”之间失去平衡,导致译者行为合理度较差,但从该译本整体译介效果来讲,其在“求真”与“务实”的把握方面上基本得当,译者行为合理度较佳。该研究为探索郝玉青的译者行为提供了参考,一定程度上加强了《射雕英雄传》(卷一)郝译本的传播效果。

The research into the English translation of Chinese martial arts fictions is an important way to analyze the existing translating experience of Chinese martial arts fictions,which can provide reference and enlightenment for the international communication of contemporary Chinese literature in the future.Based on the theory of translator behavior criticism,this paper takes as a case Anna Holmwood’s translation of Legends of the Condor Heroes:A Hero Born,analyses her intra-translation behaviors and extra-translation behaviors,discovering that Anna Holmwood loses balance between truth-seeking and utility-attaining on some translations in the translating process,which greatly influences the translator behaviors.However,from the holistic effects of the version,she deals with the truth-seeking and utility-attaining in a good manner and her translator behavior has better rationality.This study provides a reference for exploring Hao Yuqing’s translator behavior and strengthens the dissemination effect of Hao’s translation of Legends of the Condor Heroes:A Hero Born to a certain extent.
