摘要
本文旨在探讨话题熟悉度对中国英语学习者读后续写的影响,从续写产出的协同效应和读后续写语言表现(包括复杂度、准确度、流利度)方面考察了话题熟悉度的作用。结果发现:(1)熟悉话题引发的协同效应更强;(2)熟悉话题续写的句法复杂度和准确度更高,而不熟悉话题续写的词汇复杂度更高,但是话题熟悉度对流利度的影响不明显。熟悉话题能促发学习者与文本更强的互动,不熟悉话题的文本促使学习者获取更为丰富的词汇。
The study explores the effects of topic familiarity on continuation task and assays alignment effect and complexity,accuracy and fluency of Chinese EFL learners’ extended writing. The participants are divided into two groups,namely,the familiar topic group and the unfamiliar topic group. The two groups are required to do a continuation task with the familiar or unfamiliar topic passage respectively. It is found that the alignment effect in the familiar topic group was stronger than that in the unfamiliar group. The familiar group reuses more words and phrases in the original passage. The familiar group outperforms the unfamiliar group in syntactic complexity and accuracy.Meanwhile,the familiar group performs worse than the unfamiliar group in the lexical complexity,and no significant difference is found in fluency between the two groups. The familiar topic induces stronger interaction between the readers and the text,while the unfamiliar topic provides richer vocabulary scaffolding.
