《新型冠状病毒肺炎诊疗方案》中医证候术语的英译研究

English translation of TCM pattern terminologies in “Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol for COVID-19”

以常用国内外中医术语英译标准和中医双语词典为参照,对比分析了由权威机构2020年发布的3部《新型冠状病毒肺炎诊疗方案》英译本。发现“中医治疗”部分9个证候术语的英译存在误译漏译、译语不准确、译语不规范等问题。研究从术语的语义内涵和词法结构两方面进行探讨,总结英译方法,提出9个证候术语的参考译本,以期为新冠肺炎中医诊疗方案的英译提供指导,为中医术语英译实践提供参考。

This paper compared English translation of 9 TCM pattern terminologies in “Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol for COVID-19” published by three Chinese authoritative organizations in 2020. The findings showed the following problems: wrong and missing translations, inaccurate translations, non-standardized forms of language in translation. The authors analyzed translation methods from semantic connotation and lexical structure with the reference of the commonly used TCM terminology translation standards and TCM bilingual dictionaries, and put forward a revised translation version of the 9 pattern terminologies. It is hoped to provide guidance for the translation of TCM Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol as well as reference for the practice of TCM terminology translation.
