Joys and sorrows had became empty——On Lai Peng′s poetry creation in frustrated life

来鹏,晚唐诗人,在咸通间颇著才名,曾自称“乡校小臣”,是一位抱负高远却又屡试落第的文人,再加上家境贫寒,故在诗歌创作中大多抒写自己冷落的心境和抑郁的情怀。来鹏诗歌从题材上可以分为交友诗、咏怀诗以及咏物诗三类,且各有特点。在艺术特色上,其诗歌深受晚唐诗风的影响,具有善于用典、寄托遥深、意象内涵丰富等特点。

Lai Peng,a poet in the late Tang Dynasty,was quite famous during the Xiantong period.He once called himself a “junior minister of the rural school”.He was a literati with high aspirations but failed in many attempts.Coupled with his poor family,he mostly expressed his indifferent mood and depressed feelings in his poetry creation.Lai Peng′s poems can be divided into three categories:making friends,chanting feelings and chanting things,and each has its own characteristics.In terms of artistic features,his poetry is deeply influenced by the poetic style of the late Tang Dynasty,with the characteristics of good use of allusions,remote and deep spiritual dependence,and rich image connotations.
