“放而出之”考释

“Let it out”Textual Research

“放而出之”出《灵枢·九针十二原》篇原文。现行所有教材及通行译著本皆解释为“摇大针孔,使邪气得出”之意。然而这一解释似乎有些纸上谈兵,因为在实际操作过程中,“摇大针孔”所具有的损伤性易造成患者的痛苦。作者考释认为,这里的“放”可通“方”fānɡ,背逆,违背。“放而出之”,就是指进针以后,宜逆向运针之义。

“Let it out”is published in the original text of Lingshu·9 Pin 12 Yuan.All current textbooks and popular translations are interpreted to mean“shake the pinhole to make evil spirits come out”.This explanation,however,seems fanciful,because in practice,the damage caused by“rolling a pinhole”is likely to cause pain.The best,i think,here’s“put”can“square”(fānɡ),and rebelled,break it.“Let go of”is to refer to the needle into,should reverse the meaning of the needle.
