1.BACKGROUND Surface is a very important branch of science that touches all facets of our daily lives,such as washing,cleaning,writing,painting,etc.Fundamental understanding of liquid−solid interactions is crucial not only to the science itself but also to many seemingly unrelated industrial applications,ranging from self-cleaning and nonsticking surfaces to fluid transportation in oil pipeline and microfluidic devices to antifogging,anti-icing,and antifouling surfaces.
