摘要
爱尔兰作家萨莉·鲁尼的首部小说《聊天记录》主要讲述了都柏林女大学生弗朗西斯与男演员尼克之间的爱恋纠葛。本文以盖伊·斯坦丁关于不稳定无产阶级以及韩炳哲关于数字媒体的论述作为切入点,聚焦透明的虚拟世界、阶级壁垒下的自由幻想以及“失重”的千禧一代,指出在个人情爱得失的表象之下千禧年轻人所遭遇的在浪漫幻想和现实功利之间的三重爱欲困境。鲁尼希冀年轻一代超越分析性的思考,投身于社会关系和具体实践当中,这体现了她对于数媒时代青年人生存境遇问题的深切思考。
Sally Rooney’s debut novel,Conversations with Friends,is about the love affair between Francis,a college student in Dublin,and Nick,an actor.This essay,drawing on Guy Standing’s idea of the precariat and Byung-Chul Han’s discussion on digital media,attends to the novel’s treatment of a transparent virtual world,the fantasy of freedom behind class barriers,and“weightless”millennials.This essay points out that behind the volatile appearance of personal eros,millennials are confronted with an erotic dilemma that plays romantic fantasy against practical utility.Rooney hopes that younger generations will go beyond analytical thinking and devote themselves to social relations and activist practice.This novel reflects her deep concern with the existential conditions of young people in the digital age.
