Experience of TCM master WANG Shi-min in treating chronic prostatitis

慢性前列腺炎是男科常见病,以中青年男性多见。西医治疗以α受体阻滞剂或抗生素治疗为主,疗效较差。王世民教授认为慢性前列腺炎的病机以湿、热、瘀、毒、气滞等邪实为本,尤以湿邪为要;主要与肺、脾、胃、肾、膀胱等脏腑有关。治疗上主张分期论治,早期以湿热为主,治以清热利湿、分清化浊;中期以湿瘀为主,治以利湿通淋、活血通络;晚期以湿毒为主,治以利湿解毒、化瘀消癥、益气养阴。王世民教授临床上提倡内外合治,辨证加减,疗效显著。

Chronic prostatitis is a common disease in andrology, especially in young and middle-aged men. Western medicine treatment is based on antibiotics or α-receptor blockers and other drugs, which have poor efficacy. Professor WANG Shi-min believes that the pathogenesis of chronic prostatitis is based on dampness, heat, blood stasis, poison, qi stagnation, etc.,especially dampness, which is mainly related to the lung, spleen and stomach, kidney, bladder and other internal organs. Treatment is recommended to be staged. In the early stage, humidity and heat are the main pathological products. The treatment is mainly to clear heat and remove dampness, distinguish and clear turbidity. In the middle stage, dampness and stasis are the main pathological products. The treatment is mainly to relieve dampness and leaching, activate blood and dredge collaterals so that the circulation is promoted. In the late stage, dampness and toxin are the main pathological products. The treatment is to remove dampness and detoxification, remove blood stasis and eliminate zheng. Professor WANG Shi-min advocates a combination of internal and external treatments, dialectical addition and subtraction, and achieving significant clinical effects.
