中国典籍童谣英译策略研究

The English translation strategies of Chinese classical nursery rhymes

中国典籍童谣是珍贵的文化遗产,而其英译未能得到足够重视。通过考察3本较有影响力的中国典籍童谣英译本,得出童谣英译具有语言简化、语言显化、语言口语化等特点。此外,在具体的翻译策略上,3位译者在音韵、词汇、句法和语篇四个层面均作了灵活处理,充分考虑译入语儿童的认知水平和审美情趣,注重源文童趣的再现。

Chinese nursery rhymes are precious cultural heritage but their translation has not received enough attention.This paper investigates three influential English versions of Chinese nursery rhymes,concluding that the English translation of nursery rhymes has the following characteristics:language simplification,language manifestation and language colloquialization.In addition,the three translators have adopted flexible translation strategies on four levels:rhyme,diction,syntax and discourse.It takes the cognition and aesthetic of the target language children into full consideration so it pays attention to the reproduction of the childlike interest of the source text.
