The motive force of historical development is an important issue in historical theory.Marx and Engels made many expositions on this issue after they founded historical materialism.In the early 1980s,Chinese academic circles also had a heated discussion on this issue.Since the new era,in the process of summing up the experience of historical development,Xi Jinping has put forward new ideas on the driv⁃ing force of historical development,especially the summary of the centennial history of the founding of the Party,which reflects a deep understanding of the driving force of historical development.It has many characteristics of the new era and is worthy of serious consideration and research.
