Conception on Museum Construction of Southern Hunan Dialect and Development of Local Dialect Resources

湘南土话是分布在郴州、永州地区的归属未明的汉语方言,处于官话的包围中。湘南土话作为当地人民世代相传的交际和思维工具,与当地的民俗和地域文化有着密切联系,对研究湘南地区的民族源流和移民历史有重要价值。如今湘南土话濒危,建立湘南土话博物馆是一项保护濒危语言的重要措施,是保护濒危语言和开发土话资源的重要实践,对研究该地区的民俗学、地理学、历史学也具有推动作用。

Southern Hunan dialect is an unknown Chinese dialect distributed in Chenzhou and Yongzhou area,which is surrounded by Mandarin.As a communicative and thinking tool handed down from generation to generation by the local people,Southern Hunan dialect is closely related to the local folklore and regional culture,which is of great value to the study of ethnic origin and immigration history in Xiangnan.Nowadays Southern Hunan dialect is in danger.It is an important measure to establish a museum for the local dialect and the key practice of protecting endangered languages and developing dialect resources as well,and also promotes the study of folklore,geography and history in this region.
