翻译美学视角下的林语堂《琵琶行》译本美学探究

Research on Lin Yutang’s Translation of The Sound of the Pipa on the Water from the Perspective of Translation Aesthetics

中国古典诗词强调以情言志,有着自己独特的美。译者也是文学作品的审美者,往往会将自己的美学态度融入译文之中,从而进一步引发读者的审美感受。《琵琶行》是唐代诗人白居易的名篇,本文以翻译美学理论为指导,试图探讨林语堂《琵琶行》译本中的形式美、声音美、意义美、传神美以及文气美,以期更深刻地理解林语堂的美学观与翻译美学观。

With its unique beauty,Chinese classical poetry emphasizes expressing one’s will with emotion.As aesthetes of literary works,translators often integrate their own aesthetic attitudes into the translation,in order to arouse the aesthetic feelings of the target readers.The Sound of the Pipa on the Water is a famous poem by Bai Juyi,a poet of Tang Dynasty.Guided by translation aesthetics,this paper attempts to discuss the beauty of form,sound,meaning,characters and style in Lin Yutang’s translation of the poem.It is hoped that Lin Yutang’s aesthetics and translation aesthetics will be deeply understood.
