A Study on the Earplug Style of Bodhisattva Statues in the Northern Dynasties

中国北朝菩萨像耳饰可分为耳珰、耳坠、耳环三大类,耳珰类是北朝时期各地区菩萨像耳饰中较为流行的一种式样,其流行区域及年代与汉文化深入程度有关。本文认为,耳珰造型中的印度和中亚文化渊源,及其在汉文化地区的演变与发展,反映了在不同民族文化背景下,中国传统思想观念、审美取向与外来文化的碰撞与融合。

The earrings of Bodhisattva in Northern China can be divided into three categories:earplug,drop earrings and earrings.The earplug is a popular type of Bodhisattva earrings in various regions during the Northern Dynasties.Their popular area is related to the depth of Han culture.The article points out that the cultural origin of Indian and Central Asian circles in the earplug modeling,as well as the evolution and subsequent development in the Han cultural region.It also reflects the result of the collision of traditional Chinese ideas,aesthetic orientation and foreign cultures under the background of different ethnic cultures.
