Snipers is unique and distinctive in its creativity and genre enhancement. The film’s climax is preceded, conflicts are concentrated, time and space are unified and threads are clear. The dual theme of “sacrifice/growth” is expressed in a continuous “dual-hero” structure. The film reinforces its genre, showing the battle of wits and collective cooperation in sniper battles, presenting a new aesthetics spectacle of gunplay. Also, the film applys a medium-sized investment and production, adopts a compact plot, uses minimalist spaces and characters, meanwhile, rationalizes cost control and standardizes its production. Thus, it provides a solid example of the “middle-leveled film industry aesthetics”, as well as the rationalization of the Chinese film landscape and the “sustainable development” of new mainstream films.
