摘要
昔日辉煌滋生着英国的怀旧情绪,而乡村景观成为帝国怀旧的寄托之一。研究《长日留痕》中英国乡村景观的呈现有助于增进对文本的语境化理解。通过剖析史蒂文斯眼中的乡村景观,以后殖民理论视角窥视后帝国主义历史语境中的怀旧情绪,同时观照史蒂文斯殖民者与被殖民者的双重身份,揭橥背后隐含的殖民话语的虚无谎言,体现石黑一雄对于殖民后果的审视和批判,借此为《长日留痕》的后殖民主义解读略尽绵力。
The past glories brewed up the rising imperial nostalgia which rests on the countryside landscape.Studying the British countryside landscape in the Remains of the Day conduces to reveal the critical meanings,and to enhance the contextualized illustrations.Based on the postcolonial theories and historical context,this paper focuses on the imperial nostalgia expressed in the representation of Stevens on the British countryside landscape,keeping an eye on the dual identities of Stevens at the same time,thus to expose the melancholy reminiscence to the fallen British Empire and the hidden lies of the colonial discourses,which reflect Ishiguro’s review and critique on the ramifications of colonialism.
