With the opening of the Maritime Silk Road and the spread of missionaries in the early 17th and 18th centuries, cultural exchanges between China and the West gradually developed to a climax. The Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty was the heyday of the development of Chinese feudal society, and in tliis period Western art also underwent dramatic changes. At the same time,French royal court art and Qing court art resonated liighly in aesthetic taste.Through the combing of the decorative styles and utensils of the enamels during the Qianlong period, this paper uses the realistic Western painting techniques in the enamels and the complicated decorative arts to illustrate the significance of cultural exchanges between China and the West, and further studies the collision and fusion between Chinese and Western culture and art from the seventeenth century to the eighteenth century.
