Scientific research is exploring the boundaries of the unknown

一张灿烂的笑脸,齐肩的头发软软地落下来,南方姑娘的温婉美丽和科研人的果敢、严谨巧妙地在她身上交融,这是姚炜琪给人的印象。姚炜琪是南方科技大学海洋科学与工程系助理教授、博士生导师,采访中她谈起自己的科研初衷:“我研究海洋,地球70%都是海洋,但人类对它知之甚少。科研不仅能满足我的好奇心,更是在探索未知边界,与人类命运息息相关。”

Weiqi Yao is an assistant profes­sor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Marine Science and Engineering at Southern University of Science and Technology.In the interview,she talked about her ini­tial intention of scientific research:"I study the ocean,and 70%of the Earth is ocean,but humans know very little about it.Scientific re­search not only satisfies my curios­ity,but also explores the unknown boundary,which is closely related to the fate of human beings."
