On the Four Dimensions of the Function of Labor Education

摘要 习近平总书记明确指出,劳动可以树德、可以增智、可以强体、可以育美,要充分发挥劳动的综合育人功能,培养德智体美劳全面发展的社会主义建设者和接班人。劳动是激发与释放人类无限潜能的实践活动,通过增进道德认知、涵养道德情感、磨砺道德意志、实践道德行为以“树德”;通过深化科学文化知识学习、精进基本生存生活技能、通达充沛的精神世界和洒脱的人生境界以“增智”;通过提供身体活动的场域、全面均衡锻炼四肢力量、培植昂扬向上的精神状态以“强体”;通过劳动让人们直观地感知“美”、塑造与提升人们的审美品位、推动人们直接创造“美”以“育美”。 Xi Jinping clearly pointed out that labor can promote morality, increase intelligence, strengthen the body, and cultivate aesthetics, and the comprehensive nurturing function of labor should be adequately developed to cultivate socialist builders and successors with all-round development of morality, intellect, physique, aesthetics and labor. Labor is a practical activity that inspires and releases the full potential of human beings. Enhancing moral cognition, nurturing moral emotion, sharpening moral will and practicing moral behavior promote morality. Strengthening scientific and cultural knowledge, refining basic survival and living skills, and attaining an enriched spiritual world and a liberal state of life increase intelligence. Providing a field for physical activities, exercising strength in a balanced and comprehensive manner, and cultivating an uplifting mental state strengthen the body. Intuitively perceiving beautiful things, shaping and enhancing their aesthetic taste, and directly creating beautiful things cultivate aesthetics.
