The Contemporary Value of Apprenticeship Education of Shanxi Merchants in the Ming and Qing Dynasties

明清晋商通过全方位全程化言传身教的形式,分行业、分阶段对商号学徒进行职业礼仪、职业道德、职业技能、和实操训练。这种理论实践融为一体而又偏重实操的教育方式,为晋商培养了一大批商业精英,演绎了五百年商业传奇。晋商学徒教育对今天应用型人才培养仍有启发,其传统的师徒传授方式对现代应用型高校仍有课程设置、教学内容、教授方法等多方面的借鉴意义。

In the periods of Ming and Qing, the ShanXi merchants provided the apprentice who were from different areas with professional etiquette,professional ethics,vocational skills and practical training stage by stage and taught them by words and deeds during the process. This kind of teaching way combines theory into practice but tends to the practice trained a large number of elite talents for the merchants and sustained their prosperity for 500 years. The apprenticeships still inspire the cultivation of applied talents today. The traditional teaching method from teacher to apprentice still can be used for reference in many aspects such as curriculum setting, teaching contents and teaching methods.
