中医药术语对等英译问题探析

Discussion on the Equivalence English Translation of Traditional Chinese Medical Science

把中医药术语翻译成英语是一项重要的工作。本文提出了中医药术语对等英译应当遵循的四项原则,在对等理论视角下比较了英译中直译、音译、意译法的优缺点及相互关系,并通过具体实例对将中药名称、中医脏象理论、中药方剂名称翻译为对等英语的方法进行了探讨。

It is an important work to translate the terminology on traditional Chinese medical science into English.Therefore,the four principles in accordance with the equivalence of English translation on traditional Chinese medical science were advanced.The advantages and disadvantages among literal translation,transliteration and free translation were compared under the perspective of equivalence theory.The methods of translation equivalence for Traditional Chinese medical terms,state of internal theory and formulations were discussed with the concrete examples.
