Latent classes and characteristics of male youths who seek mental help for pornography use

目的:探索因色情使用寻求心理帮助的青年男性的类别及其特征。方法:通过网站招募7567名因感觉自己有色情使用问题而寻求心理帮助的青年男性,以问题性色情消费量表(PPCS),简版色情使用筛查量表(BPS)、道德冲突量表(MI)为潜在分类评估工具;以网络色情活动问卷(OSA)、一般健康问卷(GHQ-12)、色情渴求问卷(PCQ)、性强迫量表(SCS)为相关指标工具,通过网络分析揭示各类别的核心症状,及各指标对各组问题性使用的预测性(R^(2)为指数)。结果:本样本中,7567名青年男性可分为自我感知问题(n=1766)、控制障碍(n=3586)和问题性使用(n=2215)3个类别;三类均表现出色情使用凸显性,自我感知和问题组还存在耐受和戒断症状;自我感知组中PCQ得分的R^(2)最大(24.8%),OSA得分次之(R^(2)=15.1%),控制障碍组和问题组中则是SCS得分的R^(2)最大(R_(控制障碍)^(2)=18.4%,R_(问题)^(2)=21.5%)。结论:青年男性色情使用求助者可分为3个类别,不同类别核心症状不同,色情渴求、性强迫和色情活动频率对各类别的预测性不同。

Objective:To explore the latent classes and characteristics of the male youths who sought mental help for problematic pornography use(PPU).Methods:Totally 7567 male youths who perceived themselves had problems with porn use and sought psychological help were recruited.The Problematic Pornography Consumption Scale(PPCS),Brief Pornography Screen(BPS)and Moral Incongruence(MI)were used as the latent potential classification assessment tools.Questionnaire of Online Sexual Activities(OS A),the 12 Item General Health Questionnaire(GHQ-12),Pornography Craving Questionnaire(PCQ)and Sexual Compulsivity Scales(SCS)were served as the assessment tools for PPU-related indicators,and network analysis was performed to reveal each group’s core symptoms and the predictive degree(quantified by the explained variance,R^(2))of the indicators for PPU.Results:These 7567 male youths were divided into three latent classes,namely self-perceived problematic group(n=1766),impaired control group(n=3586)and problematic use group(n=2215).All three groups showed salience in pornography use,and the self-perceived and problematic groups also demonstrated tolerance and withdrawal symptoms;the score of PCQ highest explained the self-perceived problematic individuals’PPU(R_(SP)^(2)=24.8%),followed by the score of OS A(R^(2)=15.1%),while the score of SCS highest explained the impaired control group’s and the problematic use group’s PPU(R_(IC)^(2)=18.4%,R_(PU)^(2)=21.5%).Conclusion:The male youths who sought mental help for pornography use could be divided into three categories with different core symptoms in problematic pornography use.Pornography craving,sexual compulsivity and the frequency of online sexual activities have different predictions for each category.
