霸王祠公园享殿及碑廊留有100多首历代名人咏项羽、霸王祠诗词,对于项羽为什么失败,其中有胸无大志说、刚愎自用说、放虎归山说、不修仁德说、天命难违说、贪恋女色说、有勇无谋说等说法。对于项羽该不该过江,杜牧一派认为应该过江,胡曾一派认为不应该过江。对于为什么纪念项羽,认为一是拔山盖世的英雄气概,二是光明磊落的率真品格,三是重情重义的侠义精神,四是生死与共的凄美爱情,五是悲壮豪迈的刚烈性格。项羽的失败是多种因素综合作用的结果。

Overlord Temple are more than 100 poems about Xiang Yu by famous people in the past dynasties in Hall of Recreation and Stele Gallery of Bawangci Park,mainly discussing the three aspects of“why Xiang Yu failed”,“whether Xiang Yu should cross the river”and“why Xiang Yu should be remembered”.The analysis of these poems,representing the author’s own point of view,helps the reader to understand the ancient people’s evaluation of Xiang Yu,the history of Xiang Yu’s poetry and the history of poetry acceptance of Xiang Yu,hence,it’s of certain significance.
