He Xinyin actively inherited the theory of Wang Gen,the founder of Taizhou School,that“what the common people think and do everyday is Tao”,and created an ideological system with“harmony”as the core.He advocated that people should“desire less”,urged monarchs and sages to“share the same desires with the common people”,thought highly of friendship,and directly attacked the prejudice,“classification of love”.By founding“Aggregating Hall”,He Xinyin carried out the creative experiment of Chinese Utopian thought,implemented aggregating spirit,practised the idea,“attaching importance to learning and lecturing”,realized social reform.The aggregating thought is rich in connotation,and it is an integrated innovation with the characteristics of aggregating equality,openness,independence,criticism and practicality.He Xinyin's theory and practice has profound enlightening significance for contemporary Chinese rural governance.
