The method to test the differential current balance and ratio braking characteristics is proposed. This paper introduced the basic principle of transformer longitudinal differential protection, causes of unbalanced current generation and countermeasures to reduce the influence of unbalanced current, and discussed the adjustment method for current phase and amplitude, taking the PST-1200 type longitudinal differential protection of YNyn0d11 transformer as an example. Starting from the current phase compensation method, this paper discussed the ratio braking characteristics of the protection, and finally carried out the experiments to test the differential current balance and ratio braking characteristics, gave the wiring diagram of the experiment, and discussed the specific steps of the experiment in detail.
