The Chinese Communist Party’s Statement and Positioning of“Party Leadership”in the Past Hundred Year

党的领导是中国特色社会主义的最本质特征。中国共产党在百年历史进程中对“党的领导”有着不同表述,大致经历四个阶段:新民主主义革命时期强调要把握领导权,明确“党的领导”是革命成功的关键;社会主义革命和建设时期指出,“领导我们事业的核心力量是中国共产党”;改革开放和社会主义现代化建设新时期要求“坚持党的领导,必须改善党的领导”;中国特色社会主义新时代则提出坚持党的全面领导,即坚持党对一切工作的统领。就意义形塑而言,不同表述有着特定的时代背景,蕴含着丰富的内涵和意义,引领着各个历史时期的中心工作和历史使命的完成。

The leadership of the Communist Party of China is the most fundamental feature of socialism with Chinese characteristics.The Party has had different statements of“party leadership”in the course of a century,which can roughly be divided into four stages:during the period of the New Democratic Revolution,the Party emphasized the need to grasp leadership,and it was clear that“party leadership”was the key to the success of the revolution;during the socialist revolution and construction period,it pointed out that“the core force leading our cause is the Communist Party of China”;during the new period of reform and opening up and the socialist modernization drive,it insisted that“the leadership of the party must be upheld and the leadership of the party must be improved”;during the socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era,it emphasizes adhering to the party's overall leadership,that is,upholding the party’s leadership over all work.As far as meaning formation is concerned,the different statements were closely related to specific historical backgrounds and were rich in connotations and meanings,leading to the accomplishment of its central tasks and historical missions in each historical period.
