衣向东新作《身份》根据江门籍革命烈士龚昌荣的真实经历改编,具有较强的纪实性和传记色彩。在大量史料基础上,衣向东为我们还原了一个有血有肉的地下工作者形象,再现了一段比纯虚构谍战作品更加真实的隐蔽战场历史。比起传统革命历史小说中那些“高大全”的完人式英雄,《身份》里的英雄都是一些凡人,他们不够完美,可更加真实。作为一部谍战小说,《身份》也没有刻意渲染诡谋和暴力,而是还原了地下工作平淡、日常的一面,小说也因此具备了一种平民化的美学气质。
