Lexicalization of"Qishi"(其实) and Its Correlation Function

副词“其实”萌芽于五代,成熟于宋代,是由体词性偏正短语词汇化而来的。“其实”词汇化的动因是多方面的:一是韵律制约和词汇双音化,二是处于谓词性成分前,三是“其”的语义脱落和“实”的语义虚化,四是使用频率升高。“其实”词汇化的机制是重新分析。副词“其实”兼有表示实情和表示逆接的关联功能,而表示逆接的关联功能有时是显性的,有时是隐性的。“其实”的关联功能在宋代就得到了扩展:其一,关联的小句由一个扩展为多个;其二,具有篇章关联功能;其三,用来转换话轮。

The adverb"Qishi"(其实)is lexicalized from nominal modifier-noun phrase,originally ap-peared in the Five Dynasties and matured in the Song Dynasty.The causes of"Qishi"(其实)lexicalized into adverb were prosodic constraint and lexical disyllabic trend,the position before the predicate compo-nent,the semantic loss of"Qi"(其)and the semantic bleaching of"Shi"(实)as well as high frequency of use,the mechanism was re-analyzed.The adverb"Qishi"(其实)has both the correlation function of ex-pressing the fact and the reverse,the latter is sometimes explicit and sometimes implicit.The correlation function of"Qishi"(其实)has expanded in the Song Dynasty:first,the relating sentence has expanded from one to many;second,it has been given the function of chapter correlation;third,it has been used to change turns.
