Professor Huang Guangying′s Experience in Treating Polycystic Ovary Syndrome with Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine

多囊卵巢综合征(Polycystic ovary syndrome,PCOS)是妇科临床的常见病、多发病和疑难病,临床表现以排卵障碍和高雄激素血症为主,可伴有胰岛素抵抗、脂质代谢障碍等异常,其临床治疗应综合患者的年龄及意愿进行差异化施治。肾虚、血瘀是本病的核心病机,因此中医治疗以补肾、益气、活血为原则,补肾为主,兼益气活血化瘀,同时根据临床辨证适当加减。黄光英教授认为,PCOS以肾虚为本、脾虚肝郁为枢、痰湿瘀血为标,在治疗中应注意分时分期、中西医结合,必要时配合针灸干预,同时注重心理疏导,从而帮助患者获得预期疗效。

Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)is a common,frequently-occurring and intractable disease in gynecology clinic.Its clinical manifestations are mainly ovulatory disorder and hyperandrogenemia,and it may be accompanied by insulin resistance,lipid metabolism disorders and other abnormalities.The clinical treatment should be differentiated based on the age and willingness of the patients.Kidney deficiency and blood stasis are the core pathogenesis of this disease.Therefore,TCM treatment is based on the principles of invigorating the kidney,nourishing qi,and promoting blood circulation.Professor Huang Guangying believes that PCOS is based on kidney deficiency,with spleen deficiency and liver depression as pivot and phlegm and wet blood stasis as manifestation.In the treatment of PCOS,Professor Huang emphasizes the distinction of periods and stages,and the combination of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine.When necessary,cooperating with acupuncture intervention and psychological counseling,so as to help patients to achieve the expected curative efficacy.
