A Tentative Study of Chinese-Model Bronze Drum Cultural Studies

中国—东南亚铜鼓文化作为一种历史悠久的跨国多民族共享的区域文化,其研究是一个国际性、综合性的重要研究领域,中国学者应该与时俱进,努力构建中国特色、中国风格、中国气派的铜鼓学,这是构建中国特色哲学社会科学的一部分,亦是文化自信的体现和需要,有助于突破和超越该研究领域西方视角的局限性。构建中国特色、中国风格、中国气派的铜鼓学不仅必要和重要,而且可行,因为中国—东南亚铜鼓文化的主体自古至今在中国,中国已掌握了中国—东南亚铜鼓文化研究的主导权,具有良好的基础条件。构建中国特色、中国风格、中国气派的铜鼓学不是要自我封闭,建立一个自说自话的体系,孤芳自赏,而是要超越西方话语体系,摒弃殖民主义和民族主义的桎梏,因而,要坚持国际视野、人文情怀和科学精神的原则要求。

Bronze drum culture is a time-honored regional culture shared by many cross-border ethnic groups in China and Southeast Asia.Studies of it constitute an important area of research in in⁃ternational academia.Chinese scholars should keep pace with time and engage themselves in developing a Chinese-model approach to bronze drum cultural studies as part of the effort to construct a philosophical discourse and a way of studying social sciences with Chinese characteristics,for it is not only an embodiment of our cultural confidence,but also a requirement of our age.Such studies may help overcome the limitations of Western perspectives.The construction of such a Chinese model is not only important and necessary,but also feasible.For the main body of this bronze drum culture has been in China since ancient times,and China has the advantages and fundamental conditions for its research.The construction of a Chinese model does not mean that we shall build a self-contained sys⁃tem of discourse with no communication with the outside world,but that we shall step beyond the limi⁃tations of Western discourse and cast away the bondage of colonialism and nationalism.Therefore,we must keep an international scope of vision,a humanistic perspective and a scientific spirit when we pursue such studies.
