Retinitis pigmentosa(RP)is a genetic eye disease characterized by primary dystrophic degenerative lesions of photoreceptor cells and retinal pigment epithelium.Although there are many treatment methods,there is still a lack of effective methods to restore visual acuity and visual field.Traditional Chinese medicine ophthalmologists have been conducting extensive clinical research on retinitis pigmentosa for a long time and have achieved significant progress.The paper is a summary of the progress of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of retinitis pigmentosa in the last five years.
