圈层的背后:网络信息传播的“巴尔干化”分析

Behind the Circle Layer:An Analysis of the "Balkanization" of Internet Information Communication

用户在网络空间一般以群体的圈层方式存在,而不以个体为单位的茧房形式存在。圈层信息流通具有封闭性特点,呈现典型的“巴尔干化”特征,即网络群体之间信息的相互绝缘。当前的社交网络空间中普遍存在基于小众APP、社交媒体社群、网络社区形成的圈层“巴尔干化”。在用户层面,形成“巴尔干化”现象的因素包括个人偏好、观念差异、群体认同;在技术层面,包括社交媒体使用功能和算法推荐技术等。文章认为,单从用户维度很难克服“巴尔干化”,还需从技术角度出发,重新设立算法技术的把关人机制。

Users generally exist in the circle layers of groups in the cyberspace,rather than in the form of individual cocoons.The circulation of information in the circle layer has the characteristics of being closed,showing the typical characteristics of Balkanization,that is,the mutual insulation of information between network groups.In the current social network space,circle layers "Balkanization" are generally formed based on niche Apps,social media communities,and online groups.The factors that form the "Balkanization" phenomenon include personal preferences,conceptual differences,and group identity in terms of the user level,and social media usage functions and algorithmic recommendation technology at the technical level.This paper argues that it is difficult to overcome "Balkanization" from the user dimension alone,and it is necessary to re-establish the gatekeeper mechanism of algorithmic technology from a technical point of view.
