摘要
The paper discusses the competition and the relationship between Cheng Yanqiu1 and his master Mei Lanfang2,two great masters of Dan role of Beijing Opera.It analyzes Cheng’s success by exploring the term of Cheng Party which refers to the support of the elites of the time.The paper also probes into the artistic views of Cheng’s as a reformer of the traditional Chinese theater art by taking his European tour.
