摘要 In the 1950s,international division of labor began to expand in the context of globalization, which is illustrated by the expansion of labor division in the global Coffee industry in The Summer before the Dark. From the perspective of globalization,Lessing vividly reproduced the urban division space caused by the influence of mobility(generally referring to the horizontal flow of mobile individuals and capital)in Britain when widespread inflation and strikes happening, resulting in social polarization and a series of loss of experiences. They not only reflect the declining imperial image of Britain while the colonies successively declare independence, but also indicate the mental state of British citizens under the impact of globalization.
