“三山五园”说新辨

Discussion of“Three Hills and Five Gardens”

“三山五园”这一历史名词的具体指代,在史学界本来并无太大的疑问与分歧。近年有学者提出新见解,认为其中的“五园”,应是专指“圆明五园”,且不可“把三山与其相对应的三座园林作重复计算”。其实,三山五园,不但有狭义与广义之别,且有其史料及图绘画作的依据。这一“新说”,颇有值得商讨之处。

The specific reference of the historical term“Three Hills and Five Gardens”has not been much doubt and divergence in the field of history.However,in recent years,some scholars have put forward new opinion that the“five gardens”should specifically refer to the“Five Gardens in the Old Summer Palace”,and it is not allowed to“double calculate the three Hills and their corresponding three gardens”.In fact,“Three Hills and Five Gardens”are not only different in a narrow sense and a broad sense,but also based on historical materials and drawings.The new expression is quite worth discussing.
