摘要
美国华裔女作家谭恩美的小说《喜福会》讲述了20世纪50年代后两代华裔的故事。母亲和女儿作为两代华裔的代表,其不同的文化碰撞出的火花吸引了大批西方读者,小说中呈现出的中国形象十分引人注目。文章基于比较文学形象学理论,探析《喜福会》面向美国大众时所展现出来的具体的中国形象,探究新一代华裔面向中国形象时对自身文化身份的具体态度。
“The Joy Luck Club”,a novel by Amy Tan,an American Chinese woman writer,tells the story of two generations of Chinese Americans after the 1950s.As representatives of two generations of Chinese Americans,the sparks of their different cultures have attracted a large number of Western readers.The image of China in the novel is very eye-catching.Based on the theory of comparative literature iconography,this paper analyzes the specific image of China described in“The Joy Luck Club”when facing the American public,and explores the specific attitude of the new generation of Chinese Americans towards their own cultural identity.
