Indonesia’s political situation was stable during 2021. While fighting the COVID-19 epidemic, Jokowi’s Cabinet has taken various measures to promote economic recovery and structural reform as well as economic transformation. A number of economic indicators throughout the year performed better than expected. In terms of diplomacy, Indonesia adheres to "free and active" principle in order to protect its practical interests and seek to enhance its influence in regional and international affairs.
