The settlement audit of civil engineering is linked to the cost management of project construction, which is directly related to the economic benefits of the construction side. In order to ensure the objectivity of the settlement audit steps and the authenticity of the results, more stringent standards must be formulated. Based on this principle,scientific settlement audit skills should be used by enterprises,units, and companies to achieve the unity of cost investment and benefit. However, the settlement audit of civil engineering involves too complicated links, and there are many neglected problems in the actual operation process, which need to be continuously improved. In view of this, starting from the aspects of material cost management, engineering quantity calculation, quota project application, and contract and site visa, the challenges faced by civil engineering in settlement audit are focused on, in-depth research is conducted, and several rectification measures are summarized, hoping to make up for the loopholes in settlement audit work, improve the overall efficiency of the project, and provide certain reference for relevant practitioners.
