《柳行满墓志》新论

New Research on The Epitaph of Liu Xingman

山西省艺术博物馆所藏《柳行满墓志》的志主为唐初的柳行满,而《新唐书》卷73上《宰相世系表三上》(下作《新表》)所载柳行满,与该墓志志主在生平事迹、仕宦经历、家族谱系等方面大相径庭,故两人为重名者。通过重新校录此志,结合传世文献,补正了《新表》《元和姓纂》的相关记载,梳理了柳氏族谱。墓志所谓柳行满缘坐被贬为边府折冲都尉,应是柳行满犯公罪连坐。

The Epitaph of Liu Xingman collected in Shanxi Provincial Art Museum was written by Liu Xingman in the early Tang Dynasty. The name of "Liu Xingman" also appears in Zai Xiang Shi Xi Biao San Shang which is recorded in the volume 73 of Xin Tang Shu. However, this person is totally different from the epitaph figure regarding life deeds, official experience, and family pedigree. It turns out that they just have the same name. By re-editing this epitaph and combining with documents that are handed down, the relevant records in Zai Xiang Shi Xi Biao and Yuan He Xing Zuan are supplemented and corrected, and the family pedigree of the Liu clan is sorted out. According to the epitaph, Liu Xingman′s relegation to Zhechong Duwei of Bianfu is due to Yuanzuo, but it should be due to Lianzuo of a public crime.
