Originated from the West,the watercolor painting with its unique artistic language,gives people a smart and elegant visual effect.Tan Dun,the international composer,inspired by the local culture of his hometown in Hunan,composed the piano suite Eight Memories in Watercolor,or Memory for short.Taking the wonderful notes as a magical“brush”,he vividly and meticulously depicted the colorful watercolor paintings with a strong local flavor in Hunan.By analyzing the integration of music and watercolor in his works,a good understanding of the artistic connotation in his works from different perspectives can be achieved.
