Exploring the art education thoughts of Yu Jianhua,an early Chinese art historian,is of guiding significance for the development of modern art education in China.Yu Jianhua s thoughts on art education include the following three aspects:advocating national art education and cultivating the spirit of nationalism;integrating Chinese and Western art education and carrying out traditional art improvement;promoting various art exhibitions and developing the culture of social aesthetic education.In his teaching and practice,Yu Jianhua has taken into account all aspects of Chinese art,and attached importance to the inheritance and development of the spirit of Chinese national art,pioneered the reform of Chinese art education,and advanced the process of modern art education in China.
