Zhu Xizu and the Modern Transition of the Study of Chinese Literary History in the 1920s

自文学革命始,朱希祖的中国文学史研究开始由传统转向现代,具体表现为文学观念由泛至纯、文学史观由退化转为进化、文学史研究方法趋于科学化。然受制于文学革命的话语霸权,其现代纯文学观的建构未经严密充分的学理论证,对进化史观与实证方法在文学史研究中的适用性与合理性亦缺乏缜密思考。故其文学史研究在现代转型的过程中,也产生了诸多误判与武断。全面考察朱希祖文学史研究现代转型的表征与其偏失,有助于我们直观深入地认识1920年代中国文学史研究现代转型的整体面貌及其历史局限性。

Since the Literary Revolution, Zhu Xizu’s study of Chinese Literary History officially started the historical process of modern transition. There are some concrete manifestations such as the transition from pan literary view to pure, the transition from degraded view of literary history to evolutionary, and the research methods of literary history tend to be scientific. In this procedure, restricted by the discourse hegemony of Literary Revolution, Zhu Xizu’s pure literary view lacks rigorous and sufficient theoretical demonstration. As for the applicability,rationality of evolutionary historical view and empirical method in the study of literary history, he also lacks deliberate thinking. Therefore,while his study of Chinese Literary History has acquired modern academic characteristics, it also existed many misjudgments and dogmatism.A comprehensive study of the modern transition of Zhu Xizu’s literary history research helps us to understand the overall appearance and historical limitations of the modern transition of the study of Chinese literary history in the 1920s.
