摘要
基于“高阶理论”的既有研究大多关注高管团队的静态异质性特征,忽视了高层动态决策过程立足中国集体主义文化和高权力距离的独特制度环境,本文系统考察了私营企业的动态决策过程(个人专断还是集体协商)与经营绩效之间的关系通过分析2016年中国私营企业调查数据,本文发现个人决策对中国私营企业经营绩效的贡献高于集体决策,这受到市场化程度、组织特征(结构和规模)与高层领导个人权威水平的复杂调节。本文从制度、组织与管理者个人三个层次分析了不同情境下决策模式效果的变化,部分打开了组织决策的“黑箱”,丰富了我们对中国私营企业决策过程与经营绩效之间具体关系的理解.
While existing literature in Upper Echelon Fheory focuses primarily on static characteristics of top management team heterogeneity,little effort has been devoted to uncovering its dynamic decision-making process.Con-sidering the authentic institutional context in contemporary China,mostly characterized by collectivism and liigh-power distance,this paper tries to scrutinize the relationship between dynamic decision-making process(authoritative or democratic)and market peiformance.Statistical analysis of 2016 Chinese Private En-teqirise Survey Data suggests that enterprises dominated by authoritative personal decision-making significantly outperform the latter.The pattern is profoundly mediated by levels of marketization,organizational features such as scale,the complexity of internal hierarchy,and the leader's prestige.Our research could facilitate the understanding of the mystery**hlack box'of decision-making process and its implicatiori for private enterprise performance.
