Ding an sich中译考——基于物自身、物自体和自在之物三种译名的分析

Exploration on the Translation History of Kant’s Ding an sich in China

Ding an sich是康德哲学的核心概念之一,曾引发广泛争议,这种争议也反映在其中译上。在康德哲学东渐过程中,该概念的中译名主要有物自身、物自体、自在之物三种。通过对这三种译名的历史演进过程进行考察,并结合《哲学历史辞典》和康德对Ding an sich的论述,辨析了三种译法的优劣,在此基础上主张将其译为“自在之物”。

Ding an sich is one of the core concepts of Kant's philosophy,which has caused widespread controversy,also reflecting in its translation.In the process of the eastward spread of Kant's philosophy,three major different translative names are frequendy used nowadays:Wu zishen(物自身),Wu ziti(物自体),Zizai zhiwu(自在之物).By investigating the historical evolution of these three translations and combined with the"Philosophical History Dictionaiy"and Kant's discussion of Ding an sich,this paper distinguishes and analyzes the pros and cons of the three translations,and on this basis proposes to translate them as"Zizai zhiwu(自在之物)".
