批评话语视角下《纽约时报》对中意两国抗疫行动报道的分析

A Critical Discourse Analysis of Reports of The New York Times on the Anti-epidemic Actions of China and Italy

借助费尔克劳的三维分析模式,从批评话语的角度出发,对《纽约时报》对中意两国封城抗疫的行动报道进行分析,通过词语层描述、句段层解释及篇章层阐释对该媒体的用词及语篇进行互文性分析。结果显示,《纽约时报》报道中国相关事件时多带有偏见,对于别国与中国持双重评价标准,公然违反新闻公正原则。读者应以批判的态度,深入思考其传播背后的意识形态。

Fairclough’s three-dimensional analysis model is adopted in this paper to carry out the analysis on the actions adopted by China and Italy to fight against the epidemic in The New York Times from the perspective of critical discourse.The intertextual analysis on the media’s words and discourses is conducted through word-level description,segment-level interpretation and discourse-level interpretation.According to the results,it indicates that the reports on China-related events in The New York Times often have prejudices,which has held dual evaluation standards for other countries and China.Therefore,the blatant violation on the principle of journalism fairness is presented.In view of it,we have the necessity to take a critical attitude to think about the ideology behind its dissemination.
