On Wang Maoyin's Military Thought

王茂荫军事思想是王茂荫思想体系的重要组成部分,并以军事谋略思想为其基本特征。在反对外国侵略方面,他提出积极防御、广招人才、发动民众的抵抗策略;在应对太平军等反清力量方面,他提出据守长江要地,全民动员进行陆地布防,打击捻军并防止太平军与捻军结盟,开展地方团练,建立战时地方剿抚体制,宽待被裹挟者从而瓦解太平军队伍等主张;在军队建设方面,他提出了培养军事将领、不拘一格选拔军事人才、加强军事训练和开展后勤建设等诸多方面的建议。虽然王茂荫的军事思想有其历史局限性,但仍具有一定的现实借鉴意义。

Wang Maoyin's military thought is an important part of Wang Maoyin*s ideological system.Its basic feature is his military strategy thought.In opposing foreign aggression,he proposed the strategy of active defense,recruiting talents,and mobilizing the people to resist.In dealing with the Taiping Army and other anti-Qing forces,he proposed to hold the important places on the Yangtze River,mobilize the whole people to conduct land defense,attack the Nian Army and prevent the Taiping Army from forming an alliance with the Nian Army,carried out local group training,established a local suppression system in wartime,and treated those who were coerced so as to disintegrate the Taiping Army.He also put forward suggestions on military training and logistics construction.Although Wang Maoyin's military thought has its historical limitations,it still has certain practical reference significance.
