Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Therapy for Herpes Zoster

带状疱疹是由于感染水痘-带状疱疹病毒引起的,中医归属于“腰缠火丹”,俗称“蛇串疮”。严重的带状疱疹患者可出现面神经麻痹、肺炎、脑炎、脑栓塞、失明等,威胁患者的生命安全。目前治疗带状疱疹主要以缩短病程、减轻痛苦和预防并发症为目的。西医治疗带状疱疹的处置原则为抗病毒和止痛治疗。中医治疗带状疱疹主要以清热利湿、行气止痛为宜,结合外治。初期以清热利湿为主,后期以活血通络止痛为主。体虚者,以扶正祛邪与通络止痛并用。目前治疗带状疱疹的方法较多,但是如何缩短病程,减少后遗神经痛的发生及疼痛程度仍然是临床中的治疗难题。笔者总结了带状疱疹的中医治疗方法和西医治疗方法,旨在为我国医学工作者提供理论基础。

Herpes zoster is caused by infection with the varicella-zoster virus,and called“waist wound fire Dan”in traditional Chinese medicine,commonly known as“snake bed sore”.Severe herpes zoster patients may suffer from facial paralysis,pneumonia,encephalitis,cerebral embolism,and blindness,threatening the life safety.The present main treatment purpose is to shorten the duration of disease,relieve pain and prevent complications.Western medicine treatment principles for herpes zoster are antiviral and analgesic treatment.Traditional Chinese medicine treatment is mainly based on clearing heat and dampness,promoting qi and relieving pain,combined with external treatment.In the early stage,the treatment mainly focuses on clearing heat and removing dampness;in the later stage,the treatment mainly focuses on promoting blood circulation and dredging collaterals and relieving pain.For those who are physically weak,the treatment is to strengthen body resistance to eliminate pathogenic factors and to relieve pain by clearing the collaterals.At present,there are many methods for the treatment of herpes zoster.However,how to shorten the duration of the disease and reduce the occurrence and degree of pain of postherpetic neuralgia is still a difficult problem in the clinic.The author summarized the traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine treatment methods of herpes zoster,aiming to provide a theoretical basis for medical workers in China.
