In allusion to the problem that there was a potential safety hazard to be occurred in the hearth of the 2580 m^(3)blast furnace(BF),some maintenance measures such as paying much attention to protecting the hearth during its final service phase,re-establishing the monitoring system for the hearth longevity and establishing the correct operation system were taken to ensure the safety of the BF during its final service phase,which effectively prolonged the first generation service life and achieved the goal of high efficiency and longevity of the BF.
