摘要
兼具工具性和人文性的大学英语文学与医学课程能很好地向医学生传递人文知识,培养他们的人文情怀.阅读文学作品有助于培养医学生的同理心和心智理论能力,"读者-作者"的关系与"医生-患者"的关系具有相似性,阅读有助于提高医学生的倾听技巧和关注力.部分文学作品是反思医学伦理问题的绝佳素材,阅读文学作品为医学生提供了一种间接经验,让他们可以从别人的错误中吸取经验教训,防患于未然.通过大学英语文学与医学课程能对医学生开展医学人文教育,可以为其日后成为合格的医学工作者奠定良好的基础.
A college English literature and medicine course not only teaches English as a communicating tool but also transfers humanistic knowledge to medical students and fosters their humanistic understanding.Reading literary works helps to enhance medical students'empathy and Theory of Mind.Close reading of literary works can help develo p skills which enable medical students to better listen and attend to patients,because the way“a doctor is trying to diagnose a patient”is basically the same as the way a reader“is reading for the plot.”Literature engaged with medical themes forces medical students to reflect upon medical ethics.The“vicarious experience”obtained from literary works makes them forewarned and forearmed.A college English literature and medicine course cultivates humanistic values in medical students and pre pares them for a career in healthcare.
