米培莲:干出个样儿来才对得起乡亲们

Mi Peilian: I Must Produce Good Work to Live Up to the Expectations of Local Residents

“只要任职一天、活着一天,我就要把东孙村建成全省一流、全国知名、富裕民主、文明和谐的少数民族示范村。”米培莲靠着一颗全心全意为村民服务的心和一股不服输的劲,她带领东孙村的父老乡亲攻坚克难,走出了一条富民强村的路子。就是想让乡亲们摘掉穷帽子位于泰安市泰山区省庄镇最东端的东孙村,是一个回族村。2001年9月,42岁的米培莲临危受命,担任村党支部书记。她也是东孙村第一个女支书。然而,那时摆在米培莲面前的东孙村却是个“烂摊子”。

Rather than seeking fame or profit, Mi Peilian just wants her hometown to become a better place so that fellow villagers will no longer live in poverty. She borrowed money from her mother to subsidize the establishment of a cattle farm, and she led the villagers to find a way to get richer.
